when placed into the eye of nothing but negative and positive shapes, you are a simple being of elegant curves with break from the output of your bones. the bend between your neck and shoulder creates a dynamic expression of form that please every eye, but graces only mine. in the late night hour sin the late night light, you are illuminated by the pale light against your gentle skin, a typical allusion, yet so easily found in the glory of your presence. the beauty of shape is exemplified by your body, your being. i find you the most intriguing. if you were a form project, i'd put one of those neon red post its on you.

for months it was impossible, no matter how gently i stroked the skin behind your ear or pushed the sides of your body, your face stayed stagnant, and my efforts remained futile.  your smile was not easily induced in times where both you and i knew your mind was wandering, but you denied my entrance into this for fear of mine wandering even more and taking my body with it.  those months were vunerable, moments where i was caught wondering if this was a trivial series of events that i should be turning from, if these attempts at something could ever work.  my hands kept searching for the right spot, the accuracy of my fingers never finding the

i have fashioned a countdown of sorts where i mark off the days on the tips of my toes, near the smallest bones of my body.  a bootless attempt to pass the time that is not spent fit facilely into the straight lines of the side of your body where somehow the curvalinear shapes of my body attach as if we were the lint rooted to the inside of my socks when i pull them off to reveal the tiniest of toes when in contrast to the size of yours, but alone, nothing.  in contrasting and comparing to you, i am illuminated, the glow of my skin no longer a cliche but perceptible.  without the presense of a warm torso with eyes heartfelt than the tepid bod

the present akin to a past that i had spent a month wishing that the warmth from your hands would find mine again with your lips following in suit to meet mine. hours are unbearable, so what are days when we are apart? a realization that without me you are alone, without me your gums do not reveal themselves as often in the parting of your lips for that wonderful smile. when my body is present, when my voice is real, your arms fit perfectly around my waist as you kiss the crown of my head like you really mean it, like you really mean it. long drive for a night that is not long enough, your hands seem to never linger from the sides of my body.
